I'm almost certain this is a juvenile Prairie Falcon, based on the face stripe, eyebrow and tummy markings, but would appreciate a confirmation on it. Pretty rare for North Vancouver...

Hmm can't edit. It might be a Merlin? The ID guides I looked at didn't show the cheek stripe on the merlin though.

This a Merlin and it's a pacific coastal one as it's so dark in features.

I've seen several recently, at Ambleside Pond there was one feeding on dragonflies!
