I saw this gull along the pier at White Rock, B.C. today (Sept. 11) and thought it looked different than most of the gulls that I usually see out there. I believe it is a Juvenile and after going through the reference materials that I have I am thinking possible a Herring Gull, a Western Gull or a Salty-backed Gull. It seems to have quite a bit of barring on its back and a long black bill. I know that gulls are difficult, but perhaps someone can help me. Thanks so much in advance. Cheers.
