I appreciate that this is not a BC bird but these flycatchers have shown in Vancouver.
I struggle with the Myiarchus flycatchers and there are four in Ixtapa, Mexico (where this shot was taken) the Brown-crested, Dusky-capped, Ash-throated and Nutting's. This Myiarchus did not call and based on it's rufous in the tail I think it is either the Brown-crested or Nutting's. I am going for Brown-crested because of it's obvious brown crest.
