Birding in BC Community

Taken between Second and Third Beach at Stanley Park. Unfortunately I only took two shots and the first one which shows the bill is out of focus. I thought it was a gull until I looked closely at the photos when I got home and saw a pointed, wader-like bill. I noticed the bird had one slightly webbed foot dangling out while the other is tucked in (thought at first the bird only had one leg).

Okay - it is become apparent that this is a gull of some sort and the beak was open when I took it. Someone indicated it is probably a juvenile Mew Gull. It was definitely gull-sized and flew in a gull-like manner. Sorry for the confusion!
