 Post subject: western bluebird beak

Location: grand forks bc
I'm fairly positive this is a juvenile western bluebird. I am however a tad perplexed by the very pronounced hook to it's upper mandible. My field guides make no mention of this characteristic and googling doesn't clear the air. Any thoughts ? p.s.I can't for the life of me get the image to appear here so here's the link ...maybe
