What is the earliest record of a Turkey Vulture in Comox or Campbell River?

Hi Wesley,

I don't know what the earliest record is, but I would guess the first individuals each year would be sighted around mid-March, perhaps late March in some years.

The only place in BC where Turkey Vultures have been seen in the winter with any frequency is the Metchosin/Sooke area near Victoria. Otherwise they are quite rare in Jan-Feb.

Don't know off hand what the record would be, but late March is about the earliest you'll see them.

Today, I saw one Turkey Vulture in Pitt Meadows - glided the whole distance parallel to Lougheed Hwy from the Pitt River Bridge to Harris Road..

On the way home to Burnaby, I saw another Two Turkey Vultures, one on the ground on Hwy 1 at Kensington Exit, and the other soaring in unison with a Red Tailed Hawk just above the same intersect.. spring is here.. ( couldn't see what was on the menu..)

(If I were part Borg, I could have a camera implant to help catch all these lovely sights.. - yep it dates me)
