if you are near a river late afternoon, you are likely to encounter a Bear with Cubs. there are 2 sets in Sooke & Colwood and have been known to show up at Goldstream Park in previous years right on the boardwalk. the huge amounts of rain we are having this week will assist the salmon returning. they have been sparse to date and the bears have finished off whatever apples were around.
check out Chelsea Gillis FB story of a recently planned event with an expert.
the Cub was so curious, it came right up to them. Momma Bear was hunting unsuccessfully in the river. not for the faint-hearted. be safe.
