Recently during this cold snap, I have had a couple of golden-crowned sparrows, a couple of male spotted towhees, numerous dark-eyed juncos, chickadees. The downy woodpecker that was here daily for about a month in January, seems to be gone now. I have been shooing away the European starlings. I just don't like them. They scare the other birds away and poop on my mesh seed catchers. I have a difficult time counting the birds, because I'm not sure if I am counting the same one twice.
