I am not a good morning person and often my day starts at noon and ends at 1 or 2 a.m. Therefore, I miss seeing visitors to my feeders in the morning. After a couple of restful days, I was wide awake at 8 a.m. this morning. I got up and put the coffee on and ate yesterdays muffins I had baked for breakfast. Lo and behold if I didn't see a Northern Flicker at the sunflower-seed bell feeder. I grabbed my camera with the powerful zoom lens (Sony Cybershot DSC-H400) 63x zoom point and shoot. Standing well back inside my apartment, I zoomed in on him and took as many shots as I possibly could. I only got one that was half decent, which I have posted on the photo page. I hope that my photos and posts are of some use to newbie birders. I am not that advanced, but I have learned a lot in the past 3 years I've done birding.
