I will be visiting the area of St. Ives and am asking if there are spots near there that are good for birds. I am more interested in photography. Are there any herons or eagles there? Also Salmon Arm?

Thank you for any replies.

Hi Bonnie,

I spend a considerable amount of time fishing Shuswap lake around Salmon Arm and the Tappen area each year and yes there are, Bald Eagles, Heron, Osprey, Ducks, Geese, Grebe, Gulls Woodpeckers, Kingfishers Hummingbirds and Owls,....

The large marsh area at the south west end of Salmon Arm bay is I believe a designated sanctuary and breeding area for Western Grebe

The latest addition to my bird spotting list from this area is, a Merlin
