My first post and happy to find a bird forum for BC :)

Although I've watched birds all my life I just recently starting taking pictures and documenting them. I was lucky enough to take a few pictures of an Indigo Bunting at my feeder two days ago, a rare site indeed for my area! The pictures are at my flickr site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kansasa/se ... 134118350/

kamloopsbirdy wrote:Hi! I'm wondering if your Indigo Bunting is a Lazuli Bunting? When I googled the 2 birds, the one in your picture is a Lazuli Bunting in Wikipedia. The Indigo Bunting had no brown bib, but was all blue?

this is only my first foray,so sure could be mistaken! but love your pictures, aren't they all so beautiful. Will have to seriously upgrade my camera to come anywhere close to your shots! Happpy birding!
Hi kamloopsbirdy,
I have a picture of a Lazuli Bunting at my flickr site so you may have mistakenly seen that. The Indigo Bunting at my flickr site is all blue, no brown bib at all. The direct link to the Lazuli Bunting is:

Wow, I checked out the photos on your site and they're really lovely! Your hummingbird pictures are very nice too. You sure get a lot of hummingbirds at your place. When I was on vacation at my kelowna vacation rentals I saw quite a few hummingbirds there too but not so many in one place as in your photos. The Indigo Bunting is a very pretty bird too, I'd like to see one of those some time but I haven't yet. I've yet to see any blue colored birds at all.

Thank you Vicbowling. :)
I've already started taking pics of the birds at my feeder again this year. A new bird to me is the Mourning Doves, I've had two at the window for about a week now. The hummingbirds are back in full swing and I'm filling two feeders about every 24 hours... they are piggies aren't they? lol
