This morning in the southeast Kelowna area I saw a 7-9" bird:
- Deep warm bright yellow on body, head and on tail in flight
- Black wings & tail
- White on breast
- Bright red cheek
This was such a distinctive bird--the colors were so bright and so sharp & defined, but I only saw him for a few minutes and cannot find it in any of my bird books or online. Tanager sized or maybe a bit bigger.

Does anyone know what this bird could be?

Most likely western tanager. The white on chest may be a play of light.
