I live in the Terrace area, and have been trying to identify some of the birds at our bird feeder with our 8 year old. While I've always liked birds and know the basics, there are some birds outside my window that I swear I've never seen. Some of them are birds that I don't believe I have seen since I was a kid. In Alberta.
So I'm looking forward to taking pictures and cross-referencing with other more knowledgeable birders!

If you have a smartphone or a tablet, there are good apps you can get that include the bird's songs etc. The best one I have is IBird Pro and I think it cost me $9.99 US. It is worth the cost. A friend sent me Peterson's Guide to North American Birds for Christmas. I was completely surprised and thrilled to get it.

Hello from Baldonnel, BC a small community of 200 just south of Fort St John. New to the area 5 years ago we finished our renovations and now watch the birds. With just a simple platform feeder, stocked with a variety of seeds and grains we have attracted a large array of different birds. Located right outside our kitchen window, the feeder provides constant entertainment during our kitchen time. We really enjoy the visitors and are committed to year around feeding.

Awesome! Good to have more northern bird-lovers on the site. There are a lot of incredible breeding birds in the Peace River region in the spring and summer, so I would recommend getting out a lot ( and in the right locations ) from about mid May to mid June - I was there this year and it was simply incredible.
