I'm in Hazelton, BC -- that's about latitude 55, between Smithers and Terrace and a bit north of both. Today I saw something that seems really out of place around here at this time of year.

I think it's some kind of thrush. Any ideas?

Rick PMed me and invited me to email the photo to him, which I did. He tells me it's an American robin in its first winter.

I hope it somehow makes it through to its second winter because we don't normally see robins around here in winter.

I'm pretty pleased with the zoom on my new camera. I took this through my living room window from about 25 feet away.
