More info on the Scrub-Jay:

Mike Willis found the California Scrub-Jay and has been observing it for the past 5 days. The Jay is busy feeding on peanuts at his home at the corner of Grandview Hwy and Copley Street in East Vancouver. Please be respectful of private residences when viewing the bird from the sidewalk.

We relocated the Scrubby at Penticton Street near the park, just around the corner from where it was initially found (S Grandview) We saw it last at 1:00pm and it flew away but it is probably still in the area.

on behalf of all the birders I'd like to give a big thanks to Mike Willis for firstly reporting this bird and secondly providing the opportunity for others to view it around the neighbourhood as it continues. Thanks Mike! Rob Lyske
