Everyone knows that the Peregrine Falcon is the fastest bird on Earth [in a dive] but what about horizontal speed? It turns out that the Gyrfalcon [145kph] is a faster pursuit flyer than the Peregrine [110kph] but the Gyr is followed closely by the Golden Eagle at 129kph!! The Goldie's speed surprised me! How can any bird that large fly so fast? ..source Wiki

...and we have all three birds on Sumas Prairie in Abbotsford right now!
