Iona treatment ponds still closed

Hi Just made a trip out to Iona this morning (JULY 28 9AM), only to find that the gate to the treatment ponds have a chain and lock attached - and so no entry is possible. Does anyone know how long this area will be closed? Thanks for any info. Clarissa

I was just up there on saturday and the gate still said no public access.

Hi all Just in case I may not have been the last to know - I was back to Iona treatment ponds yesterday and they were open again. However, there were very few birds of any kind. Clarissa

The front gate had a chain on it this morning (Saturday August 18).

I wish there was a place on the internet you could check the gate status prior to driving out there. I expected that any workers would be taking the weekends off.

I haven't been, but I know someone on the forums mentioned recently that they were there and able to go around the ponds again.
