Could I solicit nominations for the most useful road atlas for BC and the most useful road atlas for Vancouver and surroundings? "Most useful" from the birder's point of view, of course.
Thanks,

Rick Wright

I use the Mussio's "Backroad Mapbooks", for finding places I'm not familiar with. Vancouver is covered in the "Vancouver, Coast and Mountains" volume. Other areas are covered in the following volumes;

"Vancouver Island, Victoria & Gulf Islands"
"Thompson Okanagan"
"The Kootenay Rockies"
"Cariboo Chilcotin Coast"
"Northern BC"

Guy gave a great suggestion. The Mussio's "Backroad Mapbooks" are excellent for getting off the beaten trail into some areas that would be a little less birded. I use them myself and have found some really interesting places.

If you are looking for something just on Vancouver and the surrounding Lower Mainland, I have always used the Map Art books. I usually update mine every 2-3 years. The 2010 edition is great for all the road maps from Whistler right through to Abbotsford. They include all the street maps to find your way around and also all the parks, conservation areas, birding hotspots etc.
