Hi,
I am taking a Cub group camping at Deas Island (Dela) this weekend and I would like to know what birds we can expect to see. We are working on our Observers badge and they need to spot 6 different kinds of birds.
Thanks,
Paul

Deas Island is a great place for Rufous Hummingbirds around the salmonberries. There are at least a couple of Bald Eagle nests and pay attention at night, there was a nesting pair of Great Horned Owls there for many years, although I am not sure of the current situation.
The yuong naturalist club has a great local bird id sheet. You might not find all the species at Deas Island but it should help you get your six.
