Here's another I dug out. I like that you can see the impression of where the bill pierced the hawthorn berry. The shot was from January 2013 and there is definitely, in my opinion, something very uplifting about seeing waxwings in the winter. Just the perfect splash of colour.

Some head-ons from this October: western meadowlark from Brunswick Point, a Gray Jay from Cypress, and a Western Grebe from White Rock. To me these birds all seem ticked off - mostly at me and my camera.
