This is one of my favourite head-on looks. For two years running on almost the same day we've had a pair of immature Turkey Vultures lounge around on Christmas Hill. In both instances they walked around slowly, foraged occasionally and seemingly did not have a care in the world.

Good birding,

That is definitely one of the best head-on shots I have ever seen!

Fantastic Matt!

Cheers.

From Abbotsford today (December 22), a Golden Eagle glaring at me from VERY FAR AWAY. Probably has better vision than I.

So, either this little ruby-crowned kinglet is very angry at me, or a little demented.

I've got a bunch of these! I love it when my bird subjects look me in the eye...or anyone for that matter.
Hope this isn't too many:

Ok, so this one's not quite head-on, but if it were, it wouldn't be as nice an image....

Ditto for this one:

And thanks to all the others who've posted their wonderful HoVs!

Couple from today (25th when I thought no one would be around).

Palm Warbler from Boundary Bay. More yellow than the one I saw a couple of years ago. Maybe an Eastern?

And, also from Boundary Bay, a Northern Shrike.

I must say, head on is not my favorite angle for birds, here are a couple of mine from today, saved the Bufflehead just for this otherwise the conehead would have gone straight to the delete file.
