My wife and I wanted to get away from the rain so went up to Penticton for a few days. It was drier there but blowing every day. One of our favourite places to go in the area is White Lake to listen to the Western Meadowlarks early in the morning. Even on a cold blowy morning there were lots of Meadowlarks singing. It's amazing how far their song carries - you would swear they were only metres away but when you finally spot them they could actually be sitting on a sagebrush hundreds of metres away. A couple Meadowlarks came in close to the road and I was able to get a few video clips of them singing although the wind noise was a problem.
