Ever since i purchased Glenn Bartley's Birds in Ecuador book years ago i have wondered when i would get a chance to shoot those same stunning species.
For some reason 2017 felt like the right time and i did my research and we booked our flights back in January, and waited
The trip did not disappoint, in addition to the hummingbirds i was eager to add some more tanagers to my meager life list, did just that.
Not all birds were shot at feeding stations but that was where you were most likely to see them.
Scarlet-bellied Mountain-Tanager
Black-chested Mountain-Tanager (we were not sure we even got a shot at first, it only appeared once)
Black-capped Tanager
Swallow Tanager
Lemon-rumped Tanager
Blue-gray Tanager
White-winged Tanager
Blue-winged Mountain-Tanager
Blue-capped Tanager
Golden Tanager
Rufous-throated Tanager
Black-chinned Mountain-Tanager
Golden-naped Tanager
Flame-faced Tanager
Glistening-green Tanager
Moss-backed Tanager
