I got this orange variant House Finch in the back yard the other day. We seem to get one or two
every year. Apparently, something in the diet causes the different colour. I wish I could have got
him in better light, but he was waiting his turn at the feeder, and skulking back in the leaves.

Interesting! I remember seeing them all the time but haven't seen them in over a year or two... Maybe the plant that causes the orange pigmentation is suffering from habitat loss or something?
