Here's a few from around Victoria this weekend. It was pretty nice on Sat. but I didn't get much action I saw a few Harlequin Ducks, some Black Oystercatchers and Merganser. Sunday was pretty wet and cloudy but I did mange to head out for a bit. Saw to Redbreasted Mergansers, Common Golden eyes, Buffleheads, Great Blue heron and some gulls (sorry my IDing skills on gulls are not very good)

Does anyone know what gull this is, I just thought it was interesting that it caught a live bullhead. Didn't know they were that skilled in catching live fish.

That last shot is excellent!
I've seen my fair share of gulls which have caught live crabs (larger ones...) maybe they catch their own food for the challenge... or for the fun of it?

the gull looks to be a hybrid, perhaps Glaucous-winged x Western?
