I went to check on the Anna's HB and her chicks this morning. I was really concerned for their well being as the nest was so close to the trail but they are doing very well so far. She keeps her little ones well hidden and I watched her today and she is very still and quiet when there is anyone around. I watched at least 20 people walk right by her nest this morning and nobody saw the nest. Also found another nest to watch this morning, another Anna's. I don't think she has hatched her eggs and the nest is in a much safer place.

If you look close it looks like some kind of bug she is feeding them.

You can see 2 little beaks in this image.

I am not sure what she is doing, she seemed to be pulling feathers from the nest.

Excellent pics Keith. I think there is also a nest near a trail that I visit because I have seen the female in the same area since early March, I just had not found the nest
