While visiting family in Winnipeg, we've had some lousy weather so I've finally had a chance to work on my Peru photos. Thought I'd share some of the highlights with you all.
We spent 1 of our days in Lima with a bird guide who took us to the Villa Marshes, a protected bird area just outside of Peru as well as to Pucasana, a small fishing village a few miles south (?) of Peru:

I know these guys can be seen here, but I've never been so close (in a boat) to one in breeding colours!

From Lima we flew to Puerto Maldonado & thru various modes of transportation including a 3 hour boat ride up the Madre de Dios River ended up at the Manu Wildlife Lodge in the Amazon:

I don't have my "Birds of Peru" book with me, so haven't figured out which Motmot this is yet!

I know I snuck a few "non-birds" in there, hopefully you'll enjoy other wildlife too!
