While visiting family in Winnipeg, we've had some lousy weather so I've finally had a chance to work on my Peru photos. Thought I'd share some of the highlights with you all.
We spent 1 of our days in Lima with a bird guide who took us to the Villa Marshes, a protected bird area just outside of Peru as well as to Pucasana, a small fishing village a few miles south (?) of Peru:

I know these guys can be seen here, but I've never been so close (in a boat) to one in breeding colours!

From Lima we flew to Puerto Maldonado & thru various modes of transportation including a 3 hour boat ride up the Madre de Dios River ended up at the Manu Wildlife Lodge in the Amazon:

I know this is a lousy, very distant, highly cropped shot, but a Swallow-tailed Kite!

I don't have my "Birds of Peru" book with me, so haven't figured out which Motmot this is yet!

I know I snuck a few "non-birds" in there, hopefully you'll enjoy other wildlife too! :D

Fantastic photo! We came back from Machu Picchu and Lima in April but didn't see many Peruvian birds as the focus of the tour was more on historical sites.

Looks like you really had a good time and came away with lots of keepers! Some real cool birds!
