Yellow-breasted Chat

From a recent camping trip to Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park. I have seen this elusive and furtive warbler on several occasions, including recently in Oliver, but never fully in the open long enough for focusing a lens on him. This one was foraging to feed young ones and about every 15 minutes or so it would hop onto a high perch and do the full "chat". A conveniently located hoodoo provided a blind that let me wait unseen and relatively close. The BG is provided by another hoodoo.

Your sighting reminds me of my lifer Chat seen on June 18, 1998 at Medicine Hat's Police Point Park. It too was perched on a prominent perch singing it's heart out. I didn't get a photo but my memtal picture is still vivid.

Haha. That is the same place I saw my first Chat!!
