A couple of shots from the past two days, nothing too much to report alas, Sunshine coast was a bust as far as Rock Sandpiper at Mission Point, i figured i was too late for them anyways as i had planned to go after them in December but then the lens broke and.. oh well, oystercatchers were a fun diversion.

Towhee was from Saturday at Maplewood, had tried Whytecliffe and Ambleside beforehand and got nothing, Maplewood was a bit better. Surprised how popular the towhee shot was on Flickr actually.

Nice series Paul. I really like your Towhee too. It has a nice tone and balanced set of colors and perfect exposures.

My Wide is from the Sunshine coast and she doesn't know here Mission Point is. Maybe she calls it something else but can you explain where that is roughly?

Nice series - I'm not surprised on the towhee, it's one of the best towhee shots I've seen.

I'm not :D It's not everyday you get such an isolated shot of one with such perfect bokeh! and lighting! and clarity!

I really like that towhee! And the angle of the Black Scoter is neat in the ocean.

Yeh, the towhee was doing some kind of "dance" almost with it's tail (maybe it was drying it off or something) but i almost got an even better shot of it with it's tail flared out downwards with white tail tips quite prominent.
Too bad i didn't get that one all in frame, would have been quite the shot..

Very nice series Paul, the Towhee is especially a great shot. They are such a pretty bird and the red eye makes them a fun subject.

Nice to see your lens is as sharp as ever Paul.
Good job. Yes, I too think the Towhee is the best of the bunch.

Mission Point (i hope i have the name right) is just before you get into Sechelt proper.
It's a beach with a parking lot off the main road, had an ex GF who lived in Gibsons back in the day, love the area :)
