Come meet other keen birders from around the province in Princeton, June 1 to 3, for the BCFO’s Annual Conference and AGM.
There is a kick off social meet & greet Friday evening featuring guest speaker Kelly Pearce on “The Birds of Manning Provincial Park”.
Saturday and Sunday mornings feature interesting field trips to; Princeton – Summerland Road; Baldy and Iron Mountains; KVR Trail along the Tulameen River and River Rd. along the Similkameen River; and Princeton Sewage Lagoons, August Lake, Allenby Rd, & Copper Mountain Rd.
Saturday afternoon’s technical sessions include “From Barn Swallows to Black Swifts to Bobolinks: issues & opportunities”, “Vaseux Lake Bird Observatory Results”, “Rufous Hummingbird Monitoring in BC”, and more.
Alan Burger (UVIC) is the guest speaker at the Saturday evening banquet. His presentation is entitled “Icebergs and Ivory Gulls: birds and their ecosystems in a changing Arctic”.
