Nice work Deon :)

I got my Lifer Black-throated Sparrow at Grant Narrows as well, only on May 18th, 2007 :)

Great stuff, Deon. The black-throated sparrow is still on my "not seen" list. Hope he is still there in August.

Funny that you should mention that. My whole outing had the potential to turn into a disaster. I was in such a hurry to get out there after work, that I forgot my tele-converter wasn't in it's usual place (between the 300mm and the body). So there I was, stuck with a 300mm lens. Fortunately the birds were very co-operative. I walked right past the BTS on the first attempt thinking it was a Junco! The upside off course is that the 300mm f2.8 is tack sharp when used "barebones" and it teaches one to get closer to the subject. :D

Oh, and Happy Birthday Keith!

Sure, Old timer! I know you've been in the game much longer than me!

I hope he's around for your sake as well Willi. I hope I get to see you when you're in the Lower Mainland.

 at "old timer", yeh, i feel old sometimes and the grey hairs don't help either but i'm still quite young in "birder years"

The Black-throated Sparrow was the very first "Rare Bird" i ever found and reported so holds a special place in my heart.

Wonderful shots Deon, love that Black-throated Sparrow! I also hope he'll still be around, only until next week though when I get back from the east! :D

Nicely done Deon. Love the Yellow Warbler. I find Yellow warblers like to stay high in the tall trees where ever I have gone except in Merritt where they were nesting by the edge of a small pond and basically were not afraid of me take pictures close to their nest last year.

Definitely looks like all the birds were expecting you and decided to pose.....haha.
