impressive numbers and equally impressive shots Bert! are those the "Hepburn's" subspecies given the grey cheeks? they breed in western mountains from Alaska to the Cascades. must be fun to watch them as they walk, not hop (says the bird book). have never seen one, so it's great to have so many show up for you.

The count is now up to 106 as of Saturday Feb 4 but they are seldom all together in one flock! We can't confirm the second Interior bird so it's back to ONE confirmed bird!

On Sunday the birds were acting like they were getting ready to migrate. On Monday I didn't see any but one birder saw a solitary bird on a driveway. They may have moved on!
