Here is my head on shot. I took this photo of this Merlin after leaving Reifel today while still on Westham Island.

wow love that shot Nick! that merlin is gorgeous!

Since they are back here's a head-on look of a Ruby-crowned Kinglet, or should I say a head-on body!

And from Pt. Roberts, a pair of curious Ancient Murrelets caught staring at me some distance from the shore. The distinctive feature of these birds in the pale colour at the front of their bills.

At this time, the birds were more interested in shaking following Bonaparte's Gulls than worrying about activity on shore.

Upon starting to finalize my next batch, I came across this head-on photo. ????

Kinda obvious, but uncommon.

Fun! I'll play - I've probably posted this one before a long time ago. Birds can certainly look quite comedic from this perspective.
