I live quite close so I often go birding along Harvie Road south of Port Kells. Yesterday I observed a flock of 50+ larger shorebirds flying southeast over some of the fields there. They were a few hundred yards away and silhouetted against the sky so I wasn't able to see much detail.

I know Whimbrels were reported in the area last year and I'm just wondering if anybody else has seen them this year? The birds I saw could definitely have been Whimbrels but there are a couple other possibilities...
Is this some kind of thrush?

Thx!!
