A friend send me this. He saw two of these on the forest floor and unable ( willing) to fly

It looks like a fledgling , but none of my books, apps have a description that comes close to this

BTW, I ran it through the Merlin online photo ID and it came back with laughing gull and white ibis as top choices. It has been giving me some way off ID's lately. Has anyone else noticed this?

I would say Black-throated Gray Warbler. Where was it seen?
