Birding in BC Community

My wife and I spotted these two yesterday along the Lochside Trail near Blenkinsop Lake. Up to this point in our very short birding time the only birds with distinctive yellow have been the Orange-Crowned and Yellow Warblers. But I don't think either them are Warblers primarily because of the bill shape.


With the pinkish conical bill, and yellow rump could it be a female Western Tanager?


I'm not too sure but could this one be male non breeding American Goldfinch? With it's conical dark bill, whitish wing bar and what looks to be a darker crown developing.

You are right on both IDs Mark tough to tell for sure if that is a male goldfinch but females are usually more pale headed. Nice shots too.
