Hi this is actually a Horned Grebe note the clear defined border between the black and white on the face. A Eared Grebe does not have that clear border but appears more smudgy with gray. Also look at the neck of your bird it is all white and Eared Grebes have a more gray neck.

That is a Horned Grebe. Note the pale spot in front of the eye (between the eye and the bill), the well defined contrast between gray and white on the face, and also the head shape is different (Eared Grebes have a more pointed (on top) head shape).
