Hello there,

On Friday late afternoon, in the shrubs in front of a residential building on 2nd Ave in Kitsilano, I saw a Sparrow with strong white markings above the eyes. I first thought of a White-Crowned Sparrow (which would have been unusual enough as I have never seen or heard one in this street in the past years), but I also noticed it has a clearly marked white throat as well. I didn't see (nor looked for) the yellow lores. Now I wish I had a better, longer look!

Apart from the White-Throated Sparrow, I can't think of another Sparrow with white crown and white throat. Am I overlooking another species? Or is it possible that a lone White-Throated Sparrow got lost in this residential street?

Many thanks!
Esther
