Birding in BC Community

Both images were taken at a lake in the mountain range just before the rocky mountains.

My best guess would be a female Lesser Scaup for the image of the two brown birds closely together, and a juvenile Common Loon for the image with the bird with spread wings.

Anyone care to chime in?

The first ones are common goldeneyes, and the second is a common loon as you thought.
