Hi,

Was out the other day on the Dallas Road Walkway heading east past Fonyo Beach.

Saw two "unusual" (for me) sparrows, male+female, quite tame almost on the ground a few feet away next to a stand of trees and bushes - sunny, breezy day!

It looks like the Chipping Sparrow in the GOLDEN Birds of North America book:
Very prominent eyes stripe(s) and russet crown.
However body and wings were almost dark chocolate colour.
