Hi Birders! I'm new here, but was walking in Kitsilano today and spotted a very cool little bird that I have never seen before. Perhaps it's just me being a novice, but I was curious if anyone knew what kind of bird it is...

It was smaller than a crow but bigger than a robin (though not by much). He had a grey neck with an orange/crimson patch under his beak. His back was light brown with darker brown/black zebra type stripes. His belly/legs were white with the same stripes and his tail was dark brown/black.

Any thoughts? have a photo (taken from a distance) but not sure how to upload it here.
