Taken May 30, Thetis Lake Regional Park. I think this is a Hairy woodpecker? I cannot see enough of its back for a positive id. Can anyone confirm? Thx.

Yes, it’s a Hairy. The best indicator to distinguish between a Hairy and Downy is the beak. With a Hairy it is rather large, almost as long as it’s head. A Downy’s beak is small and dainty by comparison.
