This bird was spotted on the outskirts of Nelson BC on November 9, 2021. It was on the outskirts of town, on a lightstand above the highway. By size and general shape it looks like an eagle but I have never seen one with this colouring before. There is a clear division between a goldish shoulder / head section and a darker lower body portion.
