Greetings,
I got a shot of a Hawk Merlin identified as a Northern Harrier and I'd like to get a second opinion as the coloration looked somewhat different from the photo's I saw online. It was some distance away and these were the only shots I could get. Thanks

Yes, that is a female Northern Harrier. Note the facial disk and white rump patch.

Your species identification (Northern Harrier) is correct, but a sex cannot to determined since this is an immature bird (often mistaken as an adult female).
