Hi, Diana

The gift shop at Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary
at Ladner, BC, has a number of plasticised
fold-outs with photographs of birds for identification
purposes - for sale. There are several - one each
major bird categories; they are durable and intended
for use in the field.

One of these might be useful for your purposes.

The gift shop also has a good collection of
books for bird identification. Cheers.

Well after a few months of looking for a printshop, as well as a adding a bunch more species to the poster, it is finally ready. I expect to have it in stores in the next week or two, starting with a number of stores on the lower island. So check your local bird feed store (Wild Birds Unlimited, Wild Bird Centre etc) or contact me directly for a local dealer. Here is a link to the final poster layout.

The pileated came in the day i was to take it into the print shop and really finished off the poster well. I can be reached at www.raincoastphoto.com for details

Lol, i tried to keep them to the usual suspects, the big issue is trying to keep them to scale, anything bigger then a coopers hawk makes the bushtits really small :)

Very excited to have picked up the new 2016 Backyard Birds of the West Poster from the printer yesterday. This is the 5th edition of this poster proudly printed in Victoria B.C. Every year as my inventory dwindles I open up Photoshop and Lightroom and start to look at what images can be improved upon, and what species can be added. I always start out thinking it will be a just a few small changes, well after another 60+ hours in Photoshop with the addition of Brown-headed Cowbird, and Swainson's thrush along with the updated images of 26 birds and a whole new layout that better groups the birds in their families I am very happy with the final product. Over the next weeks and months it will be available through my network of retailers across the Pacific Northwest. For a list of retailers http://www.raincoastphoto.com/Where-to-Buy I always encourage supporting your local retailer when possible but for those unable to find it locally it is also available for on line purchase here

Diana the Canadian Gov't will send you one. I received mine by mail about a year ago by calling them. They never charged me anything. It may not be as comprehensive as some but it was free and it works for us.

Here's their contact info......
http://redbookonline.bc211.ca/service/9 ... ervice_cws

When I contacted them I mentioned that I saw their poster at the Heron Reserve in Chilliwack and asked the gal how I could get my mitts on one. She was very accommodating. By the way their office is located on Westham Island on the way to Reifel.
Good luck...................
