A couple of weeks ago I noticed there was little or no bird activity at my feeders. Then I noticed that there were no sparrows either. I have only seen the odd crow and seagull. I took a walk around the neighbourhood and saw one sparrow...that's all.

A couple of weeks back I spotted what looked like a sharp-shinned hawk in a tree one street over, but haven't seen it since.

Anybody have any idea why the birds would suddenly desert an area so suddenly?
