My dog has brought three dead varied thrushes up to the house this week. We live on 5 acres of wooded land and thrushes come through often enough. I am having a hard time believing the dog is catching and killing them but three in less than a week is a head scratcher.

Any thoughts?

Hard to say what is happening. Pesticides, avian virus, or yes, perhaps your dogs are catching them.

Rather than dispose of the dead varied thrush, you can contact the Canadian Wildlife Service and they may want a sample sent to them. If there is a cause, they can determine it. Always good to know as it might lead to future prevention.
