On Sept 27th, Penny Hall found what appears to be a Tropical Kingbird in Chetwynd. The bird was right on 41st St., NE, in the Rodeo Subdivision. The bird was at the end of the subdivision that backs onto a grassy field followed by a ballfield and riding arena.

Penny says and I agree that "The rich yellow belly, forked tail, pale edges to the wing coverts, and dark markings behind the eye are suggestive of Tropical Kingbird. Also if it were a Western, it would most likely be a disoriented juvenile but juvenile Westerns are more muted in colour and this bird is extremely bright."
