Those photos are amazing. We have walked the Matsqui Trail time and time again and I have never seen a yellow bird there. I will have to try harder. What time of day were you down there?

10am to 6pm but only at the Page Rd [East end]

Familiarize yourself with the Yellow Warbler's song. There are a number of them in this area!

Lots of other birds including

Yellow Rumped Warblers
Pacific Slope Flycatcher
Bewick's Wrens
Red-winged Blackbirds
Song Sparrows
White-crowned Sparrows
Wood Duck
Downy Woodpecker
Peregrine Falcon
Eurasian Collared Doves

What are those white dots on the top of the male Bullock's oriole's head? Are they part of the bark on the tree behind him?

It's just the light reflecting off the feathers. It looks to me as though he had just taken a bath and the feathers were still wet, which would, of course, make them more reflective. He did have some yellow feathers showing in his crown:

I happened to glimpse a pure yellow perching bird on the trees outside my apartment on May 20, 2018 by the time I got my camera set up, he had flown away. I suspect he was a yellow warbler.
