Hi all,

Like many of you, I've been out birding while respecting social distancing protocols. This morning, I went to see the Tufted Duck at Burnaby Lake and there were many people there who were not respecting social distancing. I do not in any way want to impede on birding as it's important in these difficult times, but I was wondering if, on the Rare Bird Alerts, there could be a message encouraging this protocol?

Hi Sam, I also wonder why so many people continue to ignore the flood of information thats been made available regarding social distancing. My only conclusion is "You can't fix stupid"!

I passed on the Tufted Duck for this very reason. Honestly, I think the practice of “twitching” rarities in the Lower Mainland should probably be abandoned for the next little while.
